Great question! Is you hair thick or thin? Is it high or low density - as in, do you have a lot of hairs close to each other or are they far apart? And is your hair porous - does it suck up moisture quickly or slowly? Are you in a dry or a humid climate? The answers to these questions will help determine which products to choose. If your hair is fine and low density, stick to light conditioners. If it's thick and you have a tonne of it, go for something heavier like this. And if you live somewhere humid, you will need a gel like this versus dry climates where this will be your go to.

Good question! Curlytops works with our suppliers to minimise packaging - especially plastic. All of our packaging is recycled and recyclable. We even use water activated tape because it's better for the environment.

Our combs, brushes and clips are made from wheat straw which is better for the planet than regular plastic because it biodegrades.

Through our shipping partner, all shipments are carbon neutral. This is made possible with thanks to Greenfleet, a not for profit that plants native biodiverse forests in Australia and New Zealand to restore nature and capture carbon emissions.

Some people find their Curlytops bonnet too tight and others say it falls off in the night. And there are plenty of happy folks who find the bonnet to be just right. I guess we all have different-shaped heads.

But if your bonnet slips off while you're sleeping, try these tips to keep it in place:

  • Use a few bobby pins or small clips to gently secure the edges of the bonnet to your hair. Just be careful not to make it too tight, as that can be uncomfortable.
  • Try snipping the edge of the bonnet and pull the elastic tighter.
  • Or you can try pulling the bonnet all the way over your ears.
  • Personally, I find mine only comes off if I have a wild night’s sleep. So I have a satin pillowcase as well - just in case.
